This email is to announce the grand celebration of Diwali Matsuri 2009 at Tokyo Ryutsu Center (Haneda monorail stn.) on Oct 10, 2009 from

Sometime back, few of us came together to put this event together and have invited Mr. APS Mani and other community members to participate as the execution team.

Our idea is to take Diwali from a local community event to a much deserved Global platform. In a cosmopolitan global city such as Tokyo, be it the Brazilian Samba yearly festival or the Chinese New Year or the Christmas - the events are known & recognized by the local Japanese and International Community. But if one asks for any Indian festival or identity no reply comes up. And that was the basis of creating this event i.e to try and make Diwali an International event and get together 3000-4000 people for a common festive cause. As part of the community event, we also opted to support the charity organizations through the proceedings of the event.

The program would involve community members to showcase Indian community, Diwali festivaties, Indian culture in a classic way.

We are putting this exciting program together currently and will get back shortly.

We request all of you including your family and friends to participate not only as visitors and well-wishers but as active event participants, sponsors, promoters of the event.
